The Sonesta Posada del Inca Yucay is located in the
heart of the Sacred Valley, 34 miles from the Velasco
Astete Airport in Cuzco. Machu Picchu is 19 miles (30
km) away, and historic sights such as the Pisac Ruins
and Market, Ollantaytambo Ruins, Maras Salt Mines, and
Chinchero Ruins and Market, are all between 10 and 20
miles away (15 - 35 km).
The Sonesta Posada del Inca was a originally a monastery
founded back in 1678. In 1870 the monastery became the
property of a number of Republican families until it was
bought and converted into a hotel in 1982. This hotel in
Yucay is just one of a number of hotels owned by the
Sonesta Posada chain, all offering good quality rooms
and service.
