Our full day tour starts with the
visit to Pachacamac, which is the most important Incas
administrative and religious center in the coast. It is
located near Lima, at 19.26 miles (31 km). Pachacamac is
an archaeological enclosure whose constructions conserve
the mysticism and religiosity of their past. When
travelling to this sanctuary, where hundreds of years
ago the natives surrendered cult to the sun and to the
Earth, one can feel the magic attraction of a place that
will always be sacred, The investigations presume that
this place was inhabited since the year 200 up to 1533.
From the Pre-Inca constructions stand out the "Templo
Pintado" (colored temple) and the "Templo Viejo" (old
temple), built with small adobes and pyramids with
ramps. After the Inca conquest they built next to them
the "Templo del Inti" (Temple of sun) and an "acllahuasi"
(house prepared for the chosen girls). The Temple of
Inti has a flight of stairs made of stones and passages
that go along the edge of the main structure, built with
adobes. On it a great terrace exists with view to the
sea, and is related with the islands in front of this
group with an old legend.
Then our second stop is the Paracas Peninsula, located
at 220 kms from the south of Lima. It is a nature
reserve and a major archeological site as well. We will
have our excursion to the Paracas Reserve of about 2 1/2
hours. Paracas is one of the best marine reserves, with
the highest concentration of marine birds. We will enter
in contact with the nature of Paracas National Reserve
where you will see the natural rocky formations, sea
birds and the most impresive desert in contrast with the
ocean. At the end of the service private transfer to
Lima, arriving around 7:00pm (Lunch).
