For centuries, Amazonian Shamans have used the sacred powers of Ayahuasca as a window into the soul. The sacrament, they claim, can cure any illness.
In the mystical Ayahuasca program, one takes part in an ancient Amazonian healing ritual. Guided by a Shaman, the participant is transported through pathways of body, mind, and spirit for a profound experience of healing unlike anything else in the world.
This program also includes visits to the beautiful Sandoval Lake and the Parrots´ Clay Lick ¨Collpa¨ in Cachuela. It is truly a complete and unforgettable experience.


Day 1 Wasai Maldonado Eco Lodge
Includes pick-up from the airport and transport to Wasai Maldonado Eco Lodge where you will be greeted with a delicious tropical juice. You will then get settled into your bungalow accommodations. You will then have a lunch of a special diet, after which the Shaman, or spiritual guide, will greet you and introduce you to the Ayahuasca ritual.
You will then begin your journey into the natural world, so that you may immerse yourself in the surroundings where belongs the spirit of the Ayahuasca.
You will take a 30 minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River, and a 3 kilometer walk into the Tambopata National Reserve where you will paddle yourself by wooden canoe to the awe-inspiring Lake Sandoval.
There you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of this magical place, as well as observe its local fauna like fish, monkeys, exotic birds, and with a little luck—a family of giant river otters that live in the lake. You will also have the chance to safely swim in the lake if you so desire.
You will experience the transition of day into night to the calls of the birds and insects and all the other species that awaken when the sun sets. Dinner and overnight at Wasai Maldonado.

Day 2 Madre de Dios River / Chacruna Center

After breakfast you may spend the morning just relaxing in the comfort of the Lodge by the pool, where you may enjoy the local wildlife and beautiful views along the Madre de Dios River.
Later on, you will depart from our private port for a thirty-minute ride along the Madre de Dios River to the ¨Chacruna¨ center for Ayahuasca shamanism.
Take time to relax and settle in until nightfall where begins your ceremony, and your experience of the very spirit of the jungle itself. The ceremony lasts about six hours, after which you will spend the night at the ¨Chacruna¨ center.

Day 3

Come morning, you will begin the return journey to Wasai Maldonado Eco Lodge. On the way, you will visit the Cachuela Parrots´ Clay Lick, one of the most significant attractions in all of Puerto Maldonado. Here you will see one of the most amazing spectacles of nature and color as you winess hundreds of parrots and macaws feasting on the minerals that lie within the clay embankments.
Enjoy the views of the Madre de Dios during your breakfast by the pool upon returning to Wasai Maldonado Eco Lodge. Your Shaman will then conclude your ceremony with the ritual cleansing bath.
Spend some time relaxing, after which you will take a nice walk to a botanical garden where your Shaman will introduce and explain the traditional uses of many healing plants.
Come nightfall, you begin your nocturnal adventure searching for caiman and other species along the Madre de Dios River.
Special farewell dinner and night at Wasai Maldonado.

Day 4

After breakfast you will have the morning free to visit the picturesque city of Puerto Maldonado until your transport to the airport.
