DESCRIPTION

Is one of the most wonderful experiences in the Cordillera Blanca because the expedition will take place, down of the glacier most important in the Cordilera Blanca, You will enjoy of the nature, passing for geographical difficulties of 4786 meters over the sea level since where is possible see the landscapes and the mountains: ARTESONRAJU, ALPAMAYO, QUITARAJU, JACARURISH, PUKAJIRCA, PIRAMIDE GARCILAZO, TAULLIRAJU, LOS NEVADOS CARAZ.  The trekking Santa Cruz in one of the circuit of the Andean nature more representatives because the flora and fauna have a unique ecological floor that allows the survival of some species now in extinction. Every day you will discover a wonderful world for beautiful landscapes and impressive mountains.

DAY 01: Lima / Huaraz

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the bus station. Output from Lima to Huaraz  at 13:00. 8 hours approximately travelling. Transfer from the bus station to the hotel.

DAY 2: Aclimatization – Lale Churup

The Breakfast at 6:30 a.m.

Output at 7:30 from the hotel, transfer to Pitec, proximately 1 hour.

From here we begin to walk proximately 3 hours until Lake Churup.

THE LAGOON CHURUP: under "glacier Churup", on the way you will appreciate the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra and you will have a panoramic view of the city Huaraz. The lagoon Churup is characterized by a clarity of its water permitting see the bottom.

We will stop here for enjoy the nature of National Park Huascarán

SANTA CRUZ TREK

DAY 3: HUARAZ – CASHAPAMPA

Output from Huaraz to Cashapampa by car, proximately 3 hour, The walk begins from the town Cashpampa from here  we will start to enter for the valley Santa Cruz, approximate 6 hours for up to the camp Llamacorral (3750m), where we will make the first camp. From here is possible see the beautiful Taulliraju Mountain.

Difficulty: medium, of 5 at 6 hours of walk

DAY 4: LLAMACORRAL (3,800 m.o.s.l.) – TAULLIPAMPA (4,100 m.o.s.l.)

You begin the walk ascending a little to enter toward the valley Arhuaycocha and to go until the field of the Alpamayo, from here you will see the wonderful snowiest: Quitaraju (6036m.), Alpamayo (5947m), Artesonraju (6025m) and the Pucajirca. After will descend to the second camp, Taullipampa camp (4100 m)

Difficulty: medium, of 4 at 5 hours of walk

Day 5: TAULLIPAMPA – CACHINA (3,700 m.o.s.l)

trek toward Pass Union(4750m) rising from 4100  to 4750 meters over sea level. Being considered this day like the most difficult, but being compensated with the view of the majestic one Taulliraju(5830m), Santa Cruz(5829m), Alpamayo(5947m), etc. continued descending of 4750m to 3800m.o.s.l in Cachina, where will make the last camp.

Difficulty: medium, of 7 at 8 hours of walk

Day 6: CACHINA – VAQUERIA - HUARAZ

We will start the morning with a beautiful view of the Taulliraju glacier; then will start the trek to  Huaripampa, beautiful town with a nice people and houses. We will arrived to Vaquería from here we take the bus to  Huaraz, in this rout you will pass to the pass Portachuelo (4750m), from here we will see the most important mountains of the National Park Huascarán, like Huascarán, the most high mountain in Perú, Chopicalcaqui, the four summits of Huandoy, the king of the Cordillera Blanca, Chacraraju, Pisco. we will pass Yungay and finally we will arrive to Huaraz.

Bus from Huaraz to Lima 11:00 p.m.

CLIMATE: The climate is very dry, in the morning usualy the sky is clean and the climate is warm. In the morning the temperature is between 7º until 15º.  In the shadow is cold. The Night is very cold, between 5º until 0º. Exist two seasons very different: dry epoch from April to September, accentuating between June and August and epoch of rain from October and May, the maxim rains are between January and April.
