Day 01: LA PAZ – RURRENABAQUE
Transfer to the airport. After a 55 mins flight we
will arrive to Rurrenabaque . From the air, there is
terrific panoramic sight of the impressive Cordillera
Real. The flight goes between the Illimani and Huayna
Potosi mountains and descends over Yungas reaching the
Amazons. The afternoon is free so that you can visit the
town of Rurrenabaque. Overnight.
Day 02: RURRENABAQUE – CHALALÁN - PARQUE NACIONAL
MADIDI
Departing at 7:30, we shall ride per boat over the river
Tahuichi and arrive to Chalalán port after 5 ½ hours.
We then reach the Eco Lodge Hotel after a pleasant 25
minutes walk. A welcome lunch and rest follows. In the
afternoon, Chalalán guides will introduce you to the
Parque Nacional Madidi, which is an ongoing project of
the San José de Uchupiamonas community. There will be
specialized walking tours. Thereafter dinner will be
served followed by a nocturnal walk.
Day 03: CHALALÁN
Buffet breakfast. Explanatory walk over Anta, Wacaburu
and Marimono footpaths heading towards Eslabón river
(approximately 3 hours). Box lunch and return to the
hotel. Boat rides and lake swimming. Dinner followed by
a nocturnal canoe ride (1 to 2 hours)
Day 04: CHALALÁN
Buffet breakfast will be served early in order to start
a walk over Silbador, Mutún and Anta footpaths where we
will observe different exotic fruit and medicinal trees.
Lunch and rest. Thereafter bibliographic revision with
the guides. In the afternoon a walk over Whichi and
Jaguar footpaths. Dinner followed by traditional story
telling about Uchupamionas and Chalalán.
Day 05: CHALALÁN - RURRENABAQUE – LA PAZ
Buffet breakfast will be served at 5:00 hours a.m.
Return walk and boat ride to Rurrenabaque where we will
catch the plane to fly back to La Paz. Reception in the
airport.
