Day 1 LEAVING AREQUIPA
At 08:00 am we will leave Arequipa towards
nor west direction behind the snow-covered Chachani and
Yura: a small valley with thermal springs, where we will
see wild vicuñas in Pampa Cañahuas the national reserve,
Alpacas and llamas in Tocra, some birds like flamingoes,
ibis, andean gooze, ducks and the andean eagle "Kara
Kara”. Then we will visit the view point of the
Volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa (4,800
m.)(15,000ft.), will see the Ampato, Sabancaya, Walca
Walca, etc. and Chivay the Capital of the valley. In the
afternoon we will visit the hot springs & pools in La
Calera. (Admission to the pools not included, about $2
per person). Overnight at the hotel. (L, D)
)Day 2 COLCA CANYON
In the early morning after the breakfast, we will
leave for a full day excursion in the left shore to see
beautiful typical towns, like Yanque & Maca, colonial
churches, gently people with typical needlework dresses,
hundreds of pre inca terraces still in use with andean
growings like corn, qinua, kiwicha (Amaranto), etc.
Lookout of The cross of the condor: we will see the
depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condor as well
as stone scale models and some pre inca graves. Time for
lunch and return to Arequipa. (18:00 approx. in Arequipa).
